2-dAY WORKSHOP:
Deep Ecology & the Spirit of Place
….with Satish Kumar & Patrick MacManaway

Fri & Sat, Sept 19 & 20, 2025
Fri: 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Sat: 9:30am to 1:30pm

FRIDAY EVENING: Fireside Chat (part 1)
SATURDAY MORNING: Walking the Land (part 2)

Join us for a rare and powerful two-part workshop exploring our relationship with the living Earth. Co-led by legendary author and activist Satish Kumar and renowned land-whisperer Patrick MacManaway, this workshop invites us into a deeper awareness of the sacred connection between human beings and the land.

Through story, conversation, and direct engagement with place, we’ll explore the principles of Deep Ecology—a philosophy that sees nature not as a resource to be used, but as a community to which we belong. Together, we’ll awaken to the subtle energies of place and practice ways of listening, sensing, and relating to the land that are both ancient and urgently needed today.

Part I: Fireside Chat
Friday, September 19th | 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Come sit by the fire and hear from Satish Kumar and Patrick MacManaway all about Deep Ecology and the Spirit of Place. Get ready to be inspired as we explore together new ways of thinking about the earth. We’ll hear stories, ask questions, and welcome those spontaneous insights and intuitions that flow from our connection with theGenius loci, the Spirit of Place. This is a chance to gather in warmth and wonder, and begin to reimagine our relationship with the living world.

Part II: Walking With The Land
Saturday, September 20th | 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

On Saturday, we move from conversation into direct experience. In this hands-on, outdoor immersion, Satish and Patrick will lead us in a living exploration—where the land becomes our classroom, and mother nature is our teacher. Through guided practices, shared observations, and intuitive exploration, we’ll attune ourselves to the subtle presence of place, and deepen our sense of ecological belonging. This session offers a rare opportunity to learn to listen not just with our ears, but attune our whole being to a deeper way of engaging with the land. Come prepared to walk gently, wonder freely, and deepen your relationship with the sacred ground underfoot.
